May 2008 - Virelec appoints Sales & Marketing Manager

Virelec Ltd. welcomes Ken Mackay who has rejoined the company as Sales and Marketing Manager.  Ken brings 30 years of international general management, product development and marketing and sales experience in the substation automation industry.

“Virelec has become a leader in providing solutions tailored to various customers’ requirements” Ken comments, “I’m excited in helping our customers to benefit from the tremendous advances in substation automation technology”.

Ken is very familiar with the requirements of the North American utility market, having held senior positions with ALSTOM and ABB in Canada, as well as having worked at Virelec from 2003 to 2006.  He also has extensive international experience, working in the UK with VA TECH and ALSTOM, as well as participating in the introduction of digital protection technology to the transmission network of Eskom, the major South African power utility.
